Chesterfield cigarettes are currently manufactured by the tobacco producing giant Philip Morris Tobacco Company, now owned by Altria Group. This brand achieved the cult status in America in the 40's and 60's and during this period Chesterfield was the best selling tobacco brand in America and it held this position for more than a decade. The History of Chesterfield cigarettes: This brand was first manufactured in the year the 1883; they were produced by Drummond Tobacco Company of St. Louis, Missouri in the United States. Chesterfield cigarettes were later made by Liggett and Meyers and there were later sold to Philip Morris Tobacco Company in the year 1999. These cigarettes were named after the Chesterfield County in Virginia. These cigarettes are smoked for their soft taste and smooth flow. These are great cigarettes for smoking as regular brand or for an occasional smoke.
